Online shops on Shopify

Sell from your own site, not a marketplace.

A shop designed around what you sell and how people buy it. Shopify handles the checkout, the stock and the refunds. You keep the customer, the margin and the mailing list.

What you get

Included, not extra.

  • A shop built around ordering

The products, the options and the gifting are the site. There is no brochure to get past before someone can buy, and the basket is never more than a tap away.

  • Checkout on Shopify

Cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, receipts, stock and refunds, on a platform built for exactly that. The padlock is included.

  • Delivery and collection

Postage by weight or a flat rate, free delivery over the amount you choose, and collection from the shop if you have one.

  • Products and photos that sell

Every product set out with its options, with descriptions written from what you tell us. Photos are better when they are yours; we tell you what to take.

  • Fast on a phone

Most orders arrive from a phone. Every page is built ahead of time, so it loads instantly and nothing is waiting on a server.

  • Looked after monthly

New products, a price change, a seasonal range. On a care plan you send the list and we do it.

The first weeks

From a blank page to the first order.

  1. A short conversation and a fixed quote

What you sell, how you post it and what a good month looks like. A fixed quote in writing within one working day.

  2. Mockups of the home page and a product page

A deposit starts the project. You choose the mockup you love. If none of them is right, the deposit comes back in full.

  3. The build

We set up Shopify, load the products, write the descriptions and build the shop to the mockup. You see it before anyone else does.

  4. Launch, usually within four to six weeks

A test order from basket to refund before you go live. Then the shop is yours, and we look after it if you want us to.

Who it suits

Is this you?

An honest list, both ways. If you are in the second column we will say so when you get in touch, and point you at something better.

This is for you if

  • You make or stock something people can buy from a photo and a description.
  • You sell on Etsy, Amazon or eBay and the commission is starting to hurt.
  • You take orders by message and want them to arrive while you sleep.
  • You post, deliver locally or let people collect.

Probably not if

  • You have thousands of products and a stock system that must stay in charge. That is a bigger project, and we will say so.
  • You sell one thing a handful of times a year. A simple site with a payment link may be enough, and we will tell you if it is.
  • You are happy selling only through a marketplace. Keep doing that; a shop is not the right spend yet.

Our guarantee

Love the design or your money back.

You choose from mockups before we build. If you do not love any of them, we refund your deposit in full.

  • A deposit starts the project. We then design mockups of your home page, or your home page plus one product page, and send them to you.
  • If none of them is something you love, we refund the deposit in full and part as friends.
  • Once you choose a mockup, the build begins and the balance in your quote is due as agreed. Substantial work starts at that point, so the choice is the commitment.
  • The website, its code and its assets become yours when the final payment is made.

Questions

Things people ask about this kind of site.

If yours is not here, the form takes a minute and the reply comes within one working day.

Ask us something
Why Shopify and not something cheaper?

Because the checkout, the stock, the refunds and the card handling are the parts you never want to go wrong, and Shopify does exactly that for shops of every size. You pay Shopify for the platform and us for the shop built on it. We tell you what Shopify charges before you decide anything.

Can I keep selling on Etsy or Amazon too?

Yes. Your own shop is where you keep the full margin and the customer; the marketplace is where some people will look first. If you want the stock kept in step between them, say so and we set it up as part of the build.

Who writes the product descriptions and takes the photos?

We write the first draft of every description from what you tell us, and you correct anything that is not quite you. Photos are better when they are yours; we tell you what to take and how.

What happens after launch?

Hosting and care is a monthly plan agreed with you when the shop is quoted. New products, a price change, a seasonal range: you send the list and we do it. One phone number when something is wrong.

How long does an online shop take?

Most shops are live within four to six weeks of the quote being agreed. The slowest part is usually the products and the photos, so the sooner you have those together, the sooner it launches.

Not quite your business?

  • Appointments and bookings

Online booking for salons, clinics, therapists and trades that book visits, with your number one tap away.

  • Service businesses

A site that brings in enquiries for trades, consultants and local firms: the pages that matter, local search and a quote form.

  • Restaurants, cafés and pubs

A site with the menu, the hours and a table booking that works on a phone, without a delivery app taking a cut.
