Brownie Points
Brownie Points bake gluten-free brownies in London and post them through the letterbox, six to a box, every Friday. The message on the card is the point; the brownies are the bonus. They started with no website at all, so we designed and built the whole thing from a blank page: a shop that treats every order as a gift, gets the kitchen everything it needs to bake, pack and post, and leaves the payment to Shopify.

What we built
The parts that matter.
-
A shop with one job
There is one product, a box of six, so the home page sells the idea and the three flavours and then points at one button: build your box. No catalogue to get past, no basket to manage.
-
An order flow in four steps
Pick six brownies across the three flavours, choose a ready-written message or write your own, pick a Friday, then decide whether to add a donation. Each step checks itself before you can move on, and the weekly cutoff is built into the date picker, so nobody orders a box for a Friday it cannot reach.
-
A note writer for the blank card
Staring at the card is where gifts stall. Say who the box is for, the occasion, the tone and a detail or two, and a small service of our own drafts a note that fits within the card’s character limit. Edit it, regenerate it, or write your own instead.
-
Checkout on Shopify
The site builds a Shopify cart with the flavours, the message and the delivery date attached to the order, then hands over to Shopify’s own checkout for payment. Cards, receipts, refunds and the order list are Shopify’s job, and the kitchen reads every detail off the order without retyping anything.
-
A donation that sends a box to someone else
The last step offers a community donation, a set amount or one of your own, towards a free box for someone local who could do with a lift. It goes into the same order as a second line, so there is nothing separate to pay.
-
The brand, carried onto the screen
The boxes and cards already had a smiley logo, a warm brown and yellow palette and a voice in capitals. The site uses the same colours, a chunky typeface for headings and a plain one for reading, so the website and the box that lands on the mat feel like one thing.
-
Pages for the rest of the business
An about page with the founders’ story. Events and wholesale, for corporate gifting, cafés and restaurants, with a route to enquire. Contact with the FAQs on the same page, a privacy policy, and a newsletter sign-up that saves subscribers straight into Shopify’s customer list.
-
Pre-built and fast
Every page is built ahead of time, so there is no server to go down. Photos are resized and converted at build time so phones get small files, a sitemap and structured business details are generated for search engines, and analytics only runs once someone accepts cookies.
What it runs on
- Next.js, static export
- Shopify Storefront API
- Tailwind CSS
- Note-writer service on its own subdomain
- Google Tag Manager, behind consent
